Team IRMA met artist Phuong Dang and the renowned perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour in Munich. Walking out of the presentation, we had an entirely new perspective towards the concept of perfumery and what lies behind it. This scent collection of ten “Liquid Emotions” is part of a selected number of niche perfumes helping to keep the summer sense in IRMASWORLD a little bit longer.
The vision of perfume
Phuong Dang took her inspiration from what every individual feels – their emotions. “My idea was to create perfumes for every feeling – I want the perfume to become you, because scents burn themselves into our thought and can truly transform how we feel.“ Bernard Duchaufour is known for his values creating niche perfumes: No compromise on quality or vision. “With my vision, that the perfume at its best remains on the skin, even after a shower – I begged him to help me.“ So for example there is CRYPTIC, just how life sometimes seems to be, and nothing is left than just to embrace this emotion with flowery magnolia and roses, rich oakwood and oak moss. This hopefully leads us back to BELIEVING, clear with green mandarin, white freesia and vetiver.
More summer sense scents we like
As we all know and have experienced before, a warm climate might ease some of those heavy emotions. Or lift us even higher when we are already in an effortless state of mind.
Have you ever wondered how the summer in STOCKHOLM 1978 might could have reached your nose? For Vilhelm Parfumerie this scent is made up of geranium, almonds, black pepper and a hint of lemon peel.
But maybe it is a piece of the Californian way of life which you might adopt with Atkinsons’ CALIFORNIAN POPPY. A retro-update of the house’s original scent from 1908 with lemon essence and jasmin, orange blossom, cedar wood and a soft blend of incense.
Our last stop is Paris. Imagine a summer morning, sitting outside at a café, enjoying an almond croissant and a café au lait – living the French savior vivre. SUBTLE ORCHID 10 by Krigler, N.Y. was inspired exactly by this scenario – with a fragrant flower shop next door.
