Before our DJ Maggy Smiss goes off for the season, she put together some songs for us and we have a quick chat with her at Z Plage on the Martinez Hotel beach in Cannes. So what’s happening next?
IRMA: What is your next stop?
MAGGY SMISS: Lyon, Spain, Geneva and Paris, all work, work, work.
IRMA: Your favorite song of the summer season?
MAGGY SMISS: Hypnolove – La Piscine (l’impératrice Remix)
IRMA: What was your best night this season?
MAGGY SMISS: Best night was maybe my birthday night at Z Plage when everybody was singing Happy Birthday. Or maybe last night at GOTHA behind Carl Cox, without doubt one of his last sets in France.
IRMA: Which song is for you a typical winter song?
MAGGY SMISS: I do not really have a particular song for winter but I always listen to the album of Lil Wayne “The Carter III” and Vampire Weekend “Contra” when I go skiing together with my brother. This is our winter tradition!
IRMA: What inspired you most this summer?
MAGGY SMISS: The 8 letters on top of the hotel’s roof: M A R T I N E Z. Whenever I do not know what else to play or do, I look up towards these letters and theses legendary 8 letters remind me how lucky I am that I am here and to which extent I really like this place.
IRMA: Your favorite place in Cannes?
MAGGY SMISS: My favorite place is the l’île Ste Marguerite, an island crush 😉
