I am writing this piece while sitting on a bench in the park off a bustling square in one of my favorite cities. And I am typing on the beautifully designed new HUAWEI MateBook X which is extremely light and elegant in style. The guys from HUAWEI wanted to hear what we think about it and gave us one to test.
As I am traveling a lot a notebook makes sense. When it arrived, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised to see a perfectly designed little notebook in an elegant grey. Because it is even smaller than a DIN A4 page, it fits very well into my IRMA x MCM bag.
Doing the research for our editorials and newsletters often takes a long time. Being able to do it in a café or when I am at the airport waiting for the departure relaxes me and gives me more time to explore at my destination. Usually I worry about battery time and connectivity. Both aren’t an issue with the HUAWEI MateBook X. The battery lasts up to 10 hours.
The HUAWEI MateBook X is perfect because it actually makes you work more efficient. Whether you are commuting by train or love to do some work at a different place away from your desk, which leaves space for more creativity , your notebook will come along easily.
I also like to check my emails every hour in order not to be overwhelmed by too many and it is a matter of professional politeness to answer every email.
We do a lot of illustrating and photo editing. To do that on a small screen is not very practical. But composing the editorials on this notebook works very well. The colors of the screen are truly amazing and I can also take it into meetings for presentations where my artwork comes out super sharp and brilliant in color.
Nowadays presentations are key in every kind of job. Whether you work as a designer or consultant or you want to show some real estate to a potential client, the HUAWEI MateBook X allows brilliant, colorful photo presentation that makes business much easier.
After a week of using the HUAWEI MateBook X, I was surprised how much more work I got done when being in the office or out and about, which left me with more free time when coming home.
To use time efficiently is key in our business and to have a notebook at hand where I can type in all the ideas that come to my mind, or transfer the pictures I take throughout the day makes sense.
