Busy times call for extra care

Collage-Nadia-Narain-

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. But now fashion weeks are over, and it’s time to get back to everyday living and our daily routines. Business trips, appointments until late at night and too many thing to do at once leave you stressed out and exhausted. When things add up and we don’t know what to do first anymore, we need to take some extra care of ourselves. We asked our yoga specialist Nadia Narain in London how she deletes stress and tension when times are getting too busy. Follow her tips and feel at ease with yourself again.

YOGA

My top 3 poses to help strengthen my immune system:

DOWNWARD DOG

Downward dog
Please bend knees if you need to.

MEDITATION

Meditation
Sit for 5-10 minutes each day in a comfortable seated position with hands resting on thighs. Focus on your breathing and be aware of when the mind wanders and gently come back to your breath. It’s so important to have this mental space at such a busy time.

SAVASANA

Savasana
Lie down on your back with a rolled blanket under your knees and relax your body for 10 minutes. Set an alarm for 10 minutes so you don’t fall asleep. This is one of the best ways to refuel yourself at a busy time.

SUPPLEMENTS

Make sure you are taking vitamin C and zinc to keep your immune system strong and supported and avoid many late nights!

TOP SPOTS FOR RELAXATION IN LONDON

1) My home!
This is where I can totally relax and gather myself. My meditation practice is where I find my deepest relaxation whatever is going on.

2) Regents Park is one of my favourite parks to walk in and when the roses are in bloom. I love to sit in the rose gardens for my meditation.

3) The Four Season Spa in Hyde Park
The sauna overlooks the park and I love to go and get a salt scrub and massage and sit in the sauna with my girlfriends. A super treat once or twice a year!

4) Triyoga for a yoga class
Yes, even yoga teachers love to go to yoga class! It always feels good to take some time for yourself and breathe and move the body.

5) The Nectar Cafe at Triyoga
My favourite place to sit and eat is at my sister’s cafe The Nectar Cafe at Triyoga. After yoga I sit and eat delicious healthy food and feel ready for the world!
