DATE, LEMON CHICKENDate-,-Lemon-Chicken

This is perfect to prepare the night before. The marinade makes the flavour even more intense and the zest of lemon is refreshing on a hot summer night.

Chicken wings (2 for each person, depending on size)
2 Sicilian lemons for 4 chicken wings
8-12 organic dried dates for 4 chicken wings
Olive oil
garlic, sea salt, black Cayenne pepper
Tandoori sauce
1 red chili and fresh coriander (optional)

Chop the skin of the organic lemon into thin slices and fry them in some olive oil and sea salt to create a more intense flavour. Put on top of the raw chicken wings. Add the finely chopped dates, olive oil, salt and pepper and the juice of 2-4 lemons. Mix well with your hands and let it marinade over night.
2 hours before the guests arrive, put the chicken wings on a baking tray and grill them under medium heat for roughly 2 hours at 125°C. Turn sides from time to time and cover them with tin foil if they get to dry.

Grill for a long time under medium heat for very tender and soft meat. For extra sweetness you can add Tandoori sauce and chopped red chili or coriander.

Serve with grilled corn or broccoli salad.

Chop the corn into 4-inch-long pieces and fry them slightly in a frying pan with 2 tablespoons of ghee. Season with salt and pepper.

1 large broccoli, slightly boiled so it is still firm and not too tender
Handful of pine nuts
Sicilian lemon
Olive oil, sea salt & pepper, fresh garlic

Boil the broccoli, put in a large bowl with some olive oil and lemon juice, add a big piece of garlic, season with salt and pepper.
Roast the pine nuts with some sea salt and sprinkle them over the salad. Slice the fresh lemon and arrange it around the salad on a plate, add some fresh squeezed lemon juice onto the dressing. This dish can be eaten warm or cold.

All dishes can be prepared in advance. You don’t need a starter or extra prep time for dessert.
As a starter, we put fresh carpers, olives, thinly cut salami and some roasted almonds in sea salt onto various plates, perfect for the aperitivo.

As a dessert we serve dark chocolate sorbet (sold at the ice cream palor) with some iced Williams schnapps and some organic orange peel.

Enjoy your summer dinner party!
