IRMA Dirndl – a unique project

How do I start?
Our collection does not stand for traditional Tracht, but we do work with 100% natural materials, often hand woven or printed fabrics and we love details like vintage buttons and ribbons. Our lead tailor, Rita, came up with the idea of creating a limited edition traditional dirndl using our fabrics for Jasmin Khezri Collection.
Together we chose the materials and ingredients to create a Dirndl that could be worn to the Oktoberfest or for a walk in the woods on a sunny autumn day.
I like the mix of classic corduroy and cotton, yellow stripes combined with an olive apron. The fun part was putting in just enough detail, not too much, so that our customers would associate this limited edition with our collection.
Although we only used the ric-rac ribbon once on our first Cap d’ Antibes blouse in the collection, when we started 2020 along the collar, we never used this detail again, but changed the ric-rac into many different coloured cotton trims along the hem of jackets, shirts and trousers.
We wanted to take a detail from that first collection and put it on the apron, which can be worn on either side, with or without the orange ric-rac.
We also took our very first blouse and turned it into a traditional dirndl blouse. You will recognise the sleeve immediately and we have put together some pieces from our current collection that have nothing to do with Tracht, but can be combined with your Tracht to create a unique, handcrafted look.
