Road-Tripping V: Holidays in Germany: A weekend at Brenners Park Hotel

Baden-Baden, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa has an expertise in “wellness” since 1872 which becomes evident the minute you enter the lobby, get escorted to your room in the main house or the spa part Villa Stéphanie, opening your windows to the park along the river Oos and take a deep breath.

This view into the park with hundred years old trees is the perfect place for a rejuvenating weekend break. One had to spend the summer month at the Brenners in earlier days to catch up with social life and of course the thermal energy which Baden-Baden is known for besides the many events the city has to offer.

But we are in Summer 2020 and I am happy to be one of the first guests visiting the Hotel after a long lock down.

It is not only about spending a weekend in one of the most exquisite luxury hotels in Germany (part of the Selektion Deutscher Luxus Hotels) and the famous Oetker collection, but about rebalancing, taking time off and experiencing a holiday in Germany, which might be a new experience for many of us.

Start the evening at Felix& Fritz with a glass of Grauburgunder from the region. Entering Villa Stéphanie which combines traditional interior with contemporary design.

This time of it is more about rejuvenation. Not only due to the Hotel spa and excellent treatment menu but for the energy this part of Germany at the foothills of the Black Forest has to offer.

The classic architectural heritage takes you back to a golden era. The old school service and ambiance is exactly what calms our mind and enlightens our spirit these days.

The interior by Bergit Gräfin Douglas is especially present in the recently renovated part of Villa Stéphanie and adds up to a smooth transition from older times to contemporary design.

Not to forget the 500 square meter sauna area with the biggest pool in Baden-Baden where I was lucky to enjoy my first swim after six weeks.

The hotel pool. The place you want to spend all day, reading books.

Connecting to Haus Julius, the latest medial standard clinic dovetailing holistic health with state-of-the-art medical care from some of Germany’s top experts in fields like of aesthetics, gynaecology, holistic medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology and preventive medicine.

Kleopatre is one of the house cats the Oetker Collection hosts and takes care of. The other-one is Fa-raon, resident of the Bristol in Paris. A room interior of Villa Stéphanie.

You can be in a separate dining room at Villa Stéphanie where you will be served a tailor – made Vitality – Detox Cuisine or you can book a table at Fritz&Felix, the Brasserie Style garden restaurant which is pretty close to Michelin- star standards and where you will find a sparkling buzz at dinner time besides international and Badischen delicatessen.

We suggest going for many walks along the river Ooz, visit the garden of the Gönneranlagen or read a book in the hotel park. A match of tennis or a visit across the hotel to the Museum Frieder Burda are just a few things to spend the days at Baden-Baden.

We promise you will regain energy, be inspired and will dream about their house made Schwarzwälder Kirsch Torte which you will find nowhere else in the world.

Holidays made in Germany are summer 2020.

This trip was organized by the Selektion Deutscher Luxus Hotels . We took the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge to get from A to B and enjoyed the beauty of Baden-Baden.
