After ceramic art comes carpet art, at least that is what you think of when looking at the latest collaboration by cc-tapis, the doodles collection designed by British designer Faye Toogood.
The collection is characterized by her unique abstract style and inimitable playfulness where she gave cc-tapis access to her intimate artworks, which she created and painted by hand. From there she developed a collection where Faye’s expression created through the delicate use of colour and shading.
The outcome is a painterly overarching aesthetic of the Doodles collection draws on these tinkering techniques and the pieces feature a graphic stitching detail that forms curious patterns connecting the playful cut-out shapes.
For this exhibition the Milan showroom was transformed in a minimalist style in which the new rugs take center stage, whilst the artist’s original artworks, positioned on the walls throughout the space and selected pieces of furnitures by designers such as Driade: Roly Poly chair designed by Faye Toogood; the Living Divani: Bubble Rock sofa by Piero Lissoni.
Poliform: Sydney tables by Jean-Marie Massaud; Henry Timi: Cerchia chair will round up the complete setting.
The cc-tapis showroom, will exceptionally be open to the public throughout October 2019 (Mon – Fri, 10AM to 1PM), during the design world in Milan.
