Where to eat in Berlin now

There are many things to do in Berlin, especially during Fashion Week where you get the chance to wine and dine in the latest restaurants and bars that everybody is talking about. IRMA selected the latest venues and her favourite classic for a bite to eat.

Data Kitchen
„There is an app for it“ and now there is one for a quick lunch or breakfast. In Berlin Mitte gastro and nightlife entrepreneur “Cookie“ Heinz Gindullis along with German software giant SAP opened the Data Kitchen. It’s  an innovative, technology-driven restaurant concept where guests can order their food with an app on their smartphone from home or the office and pick up the high-quality food at Data Kitchen to go or to stay in. Don’t miss the show when the food is ready and the state-of-the-art screens at the Food Wall hiding the dishes change their colors and transparencies according to the products inside. Perfectly suited for the always on the go crowd and perfectly located in the heart of the Berlin start-up scene.

The Grand
The Grand is hidden away behind a nondescript door in a side street in Berlin Mitte. So don’t give up if you walk by the first time. It’s worth it! The Grand feels like the restaurant and bar of a forgotten Grand Hotel. The restaurant’s main room opens up like a patio and has the typical Berlin mix of roughed up glam. The food is excellent especially the steaks or the Boeuf Tartare and it has a well selected wine list.

Benedict
They say it is the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Imagine having the opportunity to have it all day long, 24/7. That’s basically the concept of Benedict, which was invented in Tel Aviv, like Berlin a city that never sleeps. Benedict is part of the newly-opened Max Brown hotel in Berlin Charlottenburg. Try the blueberry pancakes or the eggs Florentine or the vegan delights or, actually, anything else. It’s all delicious. And remember: Somewhere around the world it’s time to have breakfast, right now!

Dae Mon
Another place in Berlin Mitte (still happening there) is the coolest Korean restaurant in town. Just have a look at the website and you get the idea. The interior is equally stunning. The kitchen is the center stage of Dae Mon. Of course, there is kimchi, but many more delights await. Try the Cham Chi (tuna tataki). Or be adventurous and ask them to prepare something special. You will be rewarded. Open from 18:30, so just dinner for the moment.

Pauly Saal
It’s getting better every year and its motto is: Bar, Restaurant, Terrace, which is also the exact order in which you should visit this establishment. The drinks at the classic bar are just as well chosen as the guests and after a classic aperitif one moves to the restaurant. Here, modern art determines the atmosphere in a classic ambience. We always love the rocket with the small red tip. The food is fabulous anyway. And after the meal it’s back to the bar or to the terrace (so the sequence is kept).
