Vintage, Fall, Interiors and a Glass of Monteverro at Stephanie Thatenhorst

Vintage, Fall, Interiors and a Glass of Monteverro at Stephanie Thatenhorst

On Wednesday evening we moved into the showroom of Munich interior designer Stephanie Thatenhorst for one night and two days, for the annual vintage Pop Up we have been holding since 2015. Our vintage pieces and the new Fall collection of the Jasmin Khezri Collection were set among her furniture, fabrics and lamps, and Monteverro, the estate from the Tuscan Maremma, poured the wines for the aperitivo.

The vintage selection mixed finds from Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel and Dior with true vintage pieces that carry no famous name at all, and we put all of it next to our Fall collection. Thatenhorst’s interiors are warm and lived in, and in that setting the old and the new sat together easily. You could see how a cut or a fabric works in a room someone actually lives in.

Nobody planned the evening like a shop fit, and we keep making pop ups this way on purpose. They are put together by hand, they change during the evening, and they leave room for the guest. You can try a Chanel jacket from another decade with a piece from the current season, take your time and settle on a combination nobody laid out for you. The style comes from the person wearing it.

A hundred metres along Maximilianstraße, the logic is the opposite. The same brands sell the same merchandise there as in Paris, Dubai or New York, in rooms that look the same in every city. Our evening worked the other way round. A little imperfection and an unusual setting turned out to be far more entertaining, and what pleased us most was hearing from guests that a concept like this is missing in Munich.

We are very happy with how the evening went. Our thanks go to Stephanie Thatenhorst for opening her showroom to us, to Monteverro for the wines, and to everyone who came by and made the evening what it was.
