Villa Arnica is just one of the houses that belongs to the group of fine hotels of the experienced host family Klaus Dissertori.
Located in Lana, on the edge of the wide Adige Valley, surrounded by apple orchards, vineyards and palm trees, Villa Arnica, a villa dating back to 1920, is set in a lush historical garden where the medicinal plant arnica and jasmine flowers bloom.
The hotel has been renovated in a careful, modern style, without neglecting the historic charm and origins of this villa, making each room a unique and personal comfort zone.
In the summer, the main part is outside the villa, the pool house, which hosts an outdoor BBQ dinner every Thursday night.
You can very well imagine spending the whole day by the pool, perhaps enjoying a lunch prepared with freshly picked lettuce leaves from the vegetable garden next door, or just lying on your sun lounger and reading a magazine from the hotel’s well-stocked library read.
That’s all that makes Villa Arnica what it is, no minibar in the room but a well-stocked honest bar in the hallway outside your room, no TVs but a selection of international books and magazines to inspire you.
The Dissertori family has some more similar hotels to offer. The Schwarzschmied, which is just few footsteps away from Villa Arnica and a more family-oriented hotel with a great pool area and a holistic Susanne Kaufmann spa. In the heart of Lana, the Gasthaus 1477 Reichhalter, a sleep and eat small hotel with only nine rooms, an excellent South Tyrolian cuisine and wine card and the newly opened Parkhotel Mondschein in Bozen, which stands for a nonchalance, elegant interior and is a perfect get away for a weekend in South Tyrol to indulge in fine dine and wine and some excellent shopping addresses you will find here.
We suggest spending a weekend at Villa Arnica, book a dinner table at Gasthaus 1477 Reichhalter and go hiking the next day to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Plan one night at Mondschein for a stroll around town and the many wine bars and fine food addresses Bozen has to offer. Breakfast the next day in the garden of the Parkhotel will be a treat before leaving back home.
