The flower dress

Dress and shoes by Tory Burch, Hermès bag, Céline sunglasses

You will not have to miss any kind of flowers this winter season. Florals will be everywhere. Printed on dresses, shoes and bags, they will make winter tweeds and heavy wools pleasantly soft and feminine.

IRMA’S TIPS on how to wear the latest floral trend:

MATCHING FLOWERS

Have your favourite flower print all over – your shoes, your bag and your dress all in the same print. Tory Burch thought of that (see my picture above).

SCALE OF PATTERNS

Mix different sizes of patterns together, tiny daisies mixed with Dries van Noten’s big Chrysanthemums, for example.

THE CONTRAST

Mix a feminine floral pattern with rough tweeds. It gives your look an interesting twist and keeps you warm when it’s cold outside.

SLIP ONS

When going out at night, wear delicate slip ons. They make your legs look longer and a naked leg is always flattering to a delicate flower dress. Of course, no socks, even when it’s cold outside.

DARE, YOU DARE

If you are not too sure about this trend, start with an accessory in your favourite flower print, a clutch (Dries van Noten) or a scarf are good flower girl beginners alternatives.
