MILANO: This week we are looking to Milan for the Salone del Mobile. Every fashion house has something special to offer, also when it comes to interiors. IRMA brings back the most inspiring images.
LOUIS VUITTON
Will show the Objets Nomades—its clever line of campaign furniture—including this Cocoon chair by the Campana Brothers at Palazzo Bocconi, Corso Venezia, 48
ARMANI/CASA
During this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, ARMANI CASA is also showing new items playing with old techniques like marble effects for accessories and lamps. This dining table is my favorite and I would use it also for work.
BOTTEGA VENETA CASA
Located in the grand neoclassical setting of the Palazzo Gallarati Scotti, this stylish furniture and homeware range blends in beautifully with the surrounding 18th-century frescoes and tiled floors, of course everything in the typical Bottega tonality.
MARNI
Marni will take us grocery shopping to a colourful farmer’s market market filled with fruits and baskets and featuring stools made from PVC by women in Colombia.
April 14–19 at Vaile Umbria, 42
TOM DIXON
You feel like being in a film? Tom Dixon has transformed an abandoned Milanese theater into a presentation space for his latest collection, which includes the Melt.
April 15 at the Casa dell’Opera Nazional Balilla, Via Pietro Mascagni, 6
COS
The fashion label COS has commissioned an installation by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen of the architectural firm Snarkitecture. I was told that thousands of strips of white fabric will stream from the ceiling to the floor, creating a brilliant cavern.
April 14–19 at Via dell Erbe, 2
