MUNICH: When I first met Sabine Falkenberg I was taken by her spirit and happiness when she talked to me about what she does in her interior shop Falkenberg in Schwabing, Munich.
It was more than just a list of high-quality brands she sells but rather the idea of giving people’s home a new spirit and feel. She is known for her interesting mix of people which she brings together when throwing a party to celebrate new cooperations, like recently when she teamed up designer Due ODEEH with Fritz Hansen for a furniture/fashion collaboration and I am sure there is more to come. How is your interior concept store different from regular interior shops?
It’s all about living, actually! My showrooms reflect the way I live and inspire my customers to create a living situation for themselves.
I have seen you do many cooperations. You have a talent to bring people and talents together. How do you start?
It’s easy to bring people together when you are enthusiastic about what they do.
What inspires you about creating a home or an interior?
The people who live in it.

To combine fashion and interior gives both sections a very special feel. Do you choose the collections according to your interior style?
I do not choose my clothes according to the furniture I sell. But all the things I offer show an outstanding level of craftsmanship which makes them a perfect match in the end.
You sell fashion, furniture, interior objects and chocolate. How do all these aspects melt together in your own home?
Is there anybody out there who can live without chocolate at home?
