LONDON: The party of the year was Alexander McQueen’s and Frieze’s private dinner to celebrate the opening of Frieze Art Fair 2014. Held at Christ Church Spitalfields, it was a most glamorous setting for a dinner party which ended with performances by the London Community Gospel Choir. Among the guests were Kate Moss, Head of Design Sarah Burton, Naomi Campbell, Mr. Francois-Henri Pinault with his beautiful wife, actress Salma Hayek, and many more.
ABOUT TOWN THIS WEEKEND
I advise you to do the many great things London has to offer at the moment. Go and visit Frieze Art Fair at Regent’s Park and especially go for a stroll at the sculpture garden. There are many great German artists in town at the moment, like for example the fantastic Siegmar Polke show at Tate Modern, which just came from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. When Polke is in town, Gerhard Richter cannot be far. Visit his show, featuring the new “Strip”, “Flow” and “Doppelgrau” paintings, at the Marian Goodman Gallery close by.
Anselm Kiefer has a great retrospective at the Royal Academy of Art, and if you want to go for a new restaurant tour with a glass of perfectly chilled champagne in your hand by Laurent-Perrier, I advise you the tour of the London Restaurant Festival, which puts you on a gourmet bus tour with your first course in one top London restaurant, your main in another and dessert in a third. It’s London’s most original gastronomic road trip of the moment. Find out more at www.londonrestaurantfestival.com.
