LONDON: I am off for a very exciting project in the Maldives for the next 12 days. IRMA will be part of the Per Aquum Dream Calendar for the project Artist in Residence, where I will be illustrating and writing for their two resorts in the Maldives, the Niyama and Huvafen Fushi. It might feel like a vacation, but even if not so, it is always better to work under the blue sky. Most important: to plan your luggage well so you feel comfortable and have all you need.
Follow my tips and get ready for packing which can be done quickly once you get in the mood of you destination.
Put some music on first. (www.spotify)
Take less, but only your most favorite things.
Packing should be done quickly. Otherwise you will take to much.
Only two pairs of shoes maximum, flats and slight heels.
Think about a holiday colour topic. I chose bright, tropical hues and floral patterns which are great for sunlight and blue skies.
One most-wanted piece should be the center point of your holiday wardrobe, now you can build several looks around it. Mine was my Resort Miu Miu floral pants. They are comfortable and I can even wear them on the flight with a cashmere top. These Miu Miu pants set the dress theme and I decided to mix and match my other prints in between.
Two bags are maximum, one large for travel and beach and a small one. Because the bags are already a statement I could neglect other accessories and jewellery. The only other must: my Tom Ford sunglasses.
When you take few pieces, make sure that form and material are different so you won’t get bored.
Take your basics like white t-shirt and cropped denim shorts and wear them to downdress your favorite pieces. Like for example a white t-shirt with the Miu Miu fall/winter transparent PVC miniskirt.
