This season we were inspired by the mountains — not only the Swiss or Austrian Alps, but the mountains of Kurdistan in Persia, and the skiing possibilities just outside Tehran.
This region always finds its way into our collection — the antique hunting garments made for men are a perfect example of the trims, stitches and proportions you will find throughout the JK Collection.
I wanted to keep modernity alongside inspirations from pattern and the colours of Kurdistan, and elements of their cuisine — like the saffron-yellow corduroy. Jackets are made of double-face wool to keep you extra warm in colder temperatures, and a classic green loden from Austria is tailored into a modern version of the traditional loden coat, finished with our signature trumpet sleeve — itself a nod to the instrument once carried into the hunt.
This collection is versatile and contrasting. You will find cotton lace paired with silk, a grey flannel parka beside a fresh blue-striped shirt. For the first time, we embraced transparency — and we don’t mind showing silhouettes shimmering through, or coloured tights peeking beneath — it is part of the game.
We have tobacco brown corduroy and burgundy trousers, but we break up the earthiness with pink, winter sky blue, ivory cream and petrol blue. And of course, a chequered travel suit — really a business suit at heart, but made for someone who likes to travel elegantly. It is tailored in such a comfortable double-face fabric that you can sleep in it and walk straight into work the next morning.
