Last week we invited friends and clients to our OPEN STUDIO for our Fall/Winter presentation in Munich.
To give you more ideas on how to wear our collection, we created five themes to show you how to mix and match each piece.
Our collection is made in our atelier just outside Munich. We work only with natural fabrics from a mill in Bari, Italy, or small editions from the French Maison Pierre Frey, and often buy dead stock from gentlemen’s tailors on Seville Row in London. We add handmade details such as crochet and knitting to selected pieces, as well as vintage buttons.
Although our shapes are fairly classic, we like to give each piece a twist by adding cotton ribbons from Japan, trims or ric rac ribbons.
THE WHITE SHIRT
A classic for every season, we modify it slightly with different materials to change the texture and shape, often with strong fabrics or soft piqués taken from men’s tuxedo shirts. A white shirt needs simplicity and a bit of drama. To take it down a notch, just add denim or our favourite flared trousers.
BLOUSES & SHIRTS
A new blouse can make an older season’s piece feel fresh and new. We often add coloured fabrics for blouses to classic navy and cognac trousers. Whether you like a playful detail like ruffles and trumpet sleeves, or a simple stand up collar and classic button down. A blouse is always a good place to start when dressing up.
ALL CREAM & WHITE
There are so many different shades of white and cream that they become even more interesting when mixed together. Of course, we don’t want them to match 100%, so we prefer to mix a light stone grey with ivory corduroy. Add pure black accessories for a bold, elegant look.
ORGANIC KNITS
Give your outfit an artisanal touch by adding hand crocheted or knitted pieces to your wardrobe.
We only use soft organic wools that can be worn next to the skin. Wear them in layers, like our poncho over our sleeveless jumpers, or add knitted accessories like our pom pom belt and crocheted mini scarves.
DRESSES
The dress is an easy piece to wear, just add a pair of boots or loafers and you are ready to go. We love the femininity of our Taroudant dresses with a narrow waistline but a very comfortable fit and we love the fact that all our Julian dresses can be worn belted or loose and look completely different.
