PARIS: We have been looking at lots of beautiful shoes in Paris during Fashion Week, but one designer stayed particularly on my mind. When I visited Francesco Russo’s showroom on Rue de Valois, I was not only taken by the craftsmanship of his designs but also by the ideas he builds in very elegantly and makes each shoe stand for itself and at the same time stresses the beauty of the feet and leg.
He takes artistic inspiration and sees the shoe as both an architectural object and a seductive tool, which makes him well known for his iconic pieces. His designs are timeless as he neglects the idea of collections. He rather focuses on bespoke unique pieces which are worth an investment, I would say.
