Paris Fashion Week comes to an end and the collections could have not been more diversely inspiring this time. If you do not want to wait until the just shown spring collections are available, we show you the top five must-have trends which you can find already now and which also work as well for winter.
PASTELS (CELINE & NINA RICCI)
Our favourite pastel combination is by Phoebe Philo for Céline, a zest of lemon with a pale nude pink and a vibrant purple net turtle – nothing looks more flattering to your skin and especially when proportions are x-large, just like for Nina Ricci, giant pink Bermuda shorts combined with lacy spaghetti tops and comfortable blazers. A perfect mix between feminine colour hues and masculine cuts.
THE STRIPED SHIRT (CHRISTIAN DIOR & BALENCIAGA)
An all-time classic but this time differently combined and put together. The gabin femininity of Dior’s French attitude that holds a white collar cotton shirt sexy together with a black bustier dress and the more college-kid-way of Balenciaga, putting an XXL-man’s shirt together with a sweater wrapped preppily around the shoulders.
THE PARKER (NINA RICCI & VALENTINO)
Who would have imagined feminine collections like Nina Ricci and Valentino combining XXL utility-style parkers with their elegant cuts? It works well and looks extremely cool. Copy this design aesthetic to make your flattering dress look urban and sporty while keeping your warm and active all day long.
WHITE DRESS (ISABEL MARANT & CHLOE)
A white dress immediately transports you into summer, but worn with black opaque tights and boots it makes every winter coat look feminine and romantic. Short or long, combination is key. We love to wear them with heavy tweeds and Parker-style oversized jackets.
SWEATERS (BALENCIAGA & LOEWE)
Sweaters come with a message, and when they are designed by Jonathan Anderson for Loewe, we do not even mind to read the brand’s logo knitted into it. XL is another variety we are longing for, especially when combined with long, pleated silk skirts. Comfort is the way to go.
