Face & body scrubs

NEW DELHI: A beautician from Delhi’s The Lalit Hotel once said to me that if I was about to use only one beauty product it should be a good body & face scrub. It is the most important one to clean, regenerate and protect your skin. She even pointed out that if I would have forgotten mine I should call room service and ask for some gee and a cup of sea salt to mix it myself. I later understood what she meant and I agree now that if it comes to taking off make-up or after a long flight or a long day, the first thing I do in my beauty routine is giving my face and body a good scrub. I even do it every other day and I choose my scrubs according to the season. In summer they need to be more hydrating, while during winter I choose the ones that have more essential oils and less grainy scrub particles as the skin is more fragile and needs more nutrition.

Here are IRMA’s favorite scrubs:

L’Occitane Verveine body salt scrub
The light lemony fragrance feels like an early visit from summer! Salts from the Mediterranean Sea combine with the refreshing fragrance of verbena, orange, geranium and lemon tree in a luxurious exfoliating body scrub. Essential oils of grape-seed, apricot and sweet almond nourish and moisturize. The skin turns silky-smooth as dead skin cells are massaged away, and antioxidizing vitamin A helps to tone and maintain a healthy look.

Origins Never a Dull Moment
The name says it all – say goodbye to dull looking skin. This skin-brightening face polisher uses potent fruit extracts and enzymes from crushed papaya, finely ground apricot and mango seeds to dissolve lackluster cells and polish skin. It’s great for really stubborn dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling super soft after just a single use.

La Mer refining facial
Have a spa treatment at home! I use this as an exfoliating treatment and as a mask. Fermented sea muds and pure diamond powder instantly polish skin and stimulate circulation to reveal a fresh, translucent complexion. My skin looks rejuvenated, smoothed and radiant.

Laura Mercier almond coconut milk sugar scrub
We love the warm fragrance (think French patisserie!) of this pampering scrub that naturally conditions and protects skin while gently exfoliating it with sugar granules and exfoliating beads as well as the unique essence of milk, coconut, almond & vanilla. Macadamia nut and sweet almond oils moisturize, vitamins A&E protect and soothe.

Peter Thomas Roth Strawberry Scrub
Here’s a summery cocktail for your skin that’s perfect for the middle of winter. Using the skin-revitalising properties of strawberries (including strawberry puree and enzymes) and finely ground almonds create that satisfying ‘scrub’ texture, this sweetly-scented scrub for face and body uses fruit enzymes to dissolve dead cells and in turn, leave your skin glowing and feeling soft.
