Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Garda, Villa Chipperfield Ovest at Eden Reserve is an architectural gem within an extraordinary collection of villas.
Each villa within this enclave represents the pinnacle of architectural excellence, meticulously crafted by renowned visionaries such as David Chipperfield, Richard Mayer, Mateo Thun and Marc Mark in a landmark garden designed by Enzo Enea.
Perched high above this tranquil landscape, the villa offers an unparalleled perspective, with breathtaking views stretching from Gardone to the southern expanse of Lake Garda. Its design pays homage to the historic architecture of the region’s limonaias, originally used for lemon growing. The main facades of the villa are characterized by large windows that frame the Mediterranean-like landscape and invite the outside in.
Delicate columns adorn the exterior, supporting pergolas strategically placed in front of the villas. These pergolas not only provide welcome shade, but also create inviting outdoor spaces that seamlessly connect to terraces and private swimming pools. The rhythm of these architectural elements echoes that of the nearby olive groves, harmonizing nature and design in perfect symphony.
A stay at Chipperfield’s villa ouvest is ideal for either a very large family or at least a dozen friends for a weekend getaway. Although the flow of each floor and separate guesthouse and pool house works harmoniously together, each piece is designed for privacy yet with large open spaces.
Imagine a thousand books, artworks and antiques of my choice and this would be the ideal holiday home with all the space I’ve ever dreamed of. At the moment, the interior is designed to appeal to a wider audience, with some design classics, but not particularly well curated. However, it might inspire you to give it a bit more oomph by rearranging the furniture.
The nearby hotel (on the same grounds) Eden Reserve had been neglected by us as we could not leave the pool and epic terraces, but their services such as daily cleaning and replenishing the mini bar, not ordinary of course, but fruit baskets, various spirits, fine teas, and everything we asked for came in perfectly welcome for this long weekend stay.
Actually the villa is for sale, but it might be a good idea to rent it for a couple of weeks before deciding on a bigger deal.
