This summer, immerse yourself in your favourite designer’s branded world. Whether you like it or not, if you are travelling on a certain budget, you are bound to encounter a luxury brand experience, even on your holiday.
If that’s what you’re looking for, IRMA has selected the hotels, beach clubs and restaurants where you should book a table or room if you can, because things get busy, especially when hotels become cult film sets, like the San Domenico Four Seasons in Taormina, which was the backdrop for HBO’s cult series White Lotus and now has a Dolce e Gabbana branded pool. Chiao!
LOUIS VUITTON AT ZUMA, MYKONOS
Nestled between the cliffside whitewashed villas and the blue of the Aegean Sea, the two pop-up boutiques embrace the spirit of the island, with Louis Vuitton’s monogram appearing in white and neutral tones as guests arrive at Zuma Mykonos, and the stores housed in a space of traditional Mykonian stone and wood. Guests and clients will be able to shop the exclusive ‘Neverfull Mykonos resort bag’ and ‘By the Pool’ collection, before styling their new garments and accessories for a relaxing day lounging by Zuma’s infinity pool, enjoying sunset cocktails or a full izakaya dining experience in the restaurant. As if that wasn’t enough, the partnership will come to life in August with a Louis Vuitton takeover of Zuma’s modern infinity pool, where Louis Vuitton graphics and signature colours will cover the pool beds and pool itself.
MAISON REVKA, ST. TROPEZ
A brand in its own right, Maison Revka in Paris opened two years ago in the 16th arrondissement. The Paris Society Group is offering a new version of Maison Revka, this time in the South of France, on the Place des Lices in Saint-Tropez, which will transport you to a Slavic-inspired world, topped with caviar and crème fraîche.
Maison Revka Saint-Tropez follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, this time with a summery, floral look. Designed by architect Corinne Sachot, the new address features a restaurant, a traiteur, several lounges and a bar serving cocktails and dishes to share in the heart of a summer garden that brings the splendour of old Russia to the Côte d’Azur.
MAISON VALENTINO AT PALAZZO AVINO
For the summer of 2023, Palazzo Avino is collaborating with Mason Valentino to host a pop-up dedicated to the Escape 2023 capsule collection and the takeover of the Clubhouse by the Sea, completely customised.
Palazzo Avino’s Beach Club will be decked out in Valentino colours: deckchairs, sunbeds, umbrellas and the summer kit will be customised by the house to make the place of relaxation par excellence even more charming.
PAUL SMITH AT PRINTEMPS, PARIS
If you are looking for a city break to enjoy Paris when it is less crowded, you do not have to worry about missing out on any entertainment. There are plenty of things to do. Like Paul Smith taking over the Café Vert at Printemps Haussmann. Re-imagined in a vibrant palette that references the designer’s iconic signature stripe motif, the space is inspired by Brutalist architecture.
The space is inspired by Brutalist architecture and mid-century domestic interiors, particularly those of Ray Eames and Italian architect Lina Bo Bardi. Designed as a multi-purpose destination for lounging, dining and working, the space is filled with an eclectic mix of antique and vintage furniture. The menu, meanwhile, brings a touch of quintessential Britishness – with elevated takes on traditional dishes such as eggs and soldiers and toast and marmalade.
DOLCE GABBANA, SAN DOMENICO, TAORMINA, SICILY
This summer, the pool at the San Domenico Four Seasons Hotel in Taormina, of HBO’s The White Lotus fame, will be covered in blue and white Dolce Printed towers and blue and white parasols. Dolce (born in Taormina) and Gabbana (from Milan) have a strong relationship with Sicily and held their Alter Moda show at San Domenico in 2012, when it was not yet a Four Seasons.
Be sure to experience a true dolce vita effect while tanning and sipping Camparis by the pool. The intense blues and pure whites of the Blue Mediterraneo pattern evoke the dreamy atmosphere of the Italian Mediterranean. The vibrant colours of the brand’s tribute to the Sicilian Carretto echo its heritage.
DIOR x ONE&ONLY
One&Only Desaru Coast is hosting Dior to transform Ember Beach Club into a Dioriviera pop-up and café, fusing tropical paradise with Parisian lifestyle. Ember Beach Club is transformed into a Dior paradise, with vibrant designs adorning the restaurant, lounge areas and pools. The Dior Café offers an elegant dining experience with a Mediterranean-inspired menu created by Chef Raymond Tham.
