USE A SERUM

Once you treated your skin with a serum before going into your day and nighttime skin care you cannot do without it. The new Royal Fern Barrier Solution by Dr Timm Golüke is a perfect prep, a powerful treatment that works to protect your skin’s barrier from environmental stressors.

DARK CIRCLES

Too much smoke around the eyes? More Sleep is definitely a big step forward & Cold Therapy an answer.
Dip your face in a bowl of ice water and hold your breath for as long as you can, repeat! You can also buy eye spoons that are formed to massage the area around your eyes when they come icy cold out of the freezer.
I find the traditional method more effective as it also includes lips, cheeks and if you get deep enough, your jawline.

RED LIPS

Always dab lipstick on your lips with your fingers rather than painting them. It makes them much more natural looking as the older you get the lip colour fades away and it simple looks more natural when it is done with an irregular finishing. Also, it is more attractive to kiss.

HOT DRINKS

Add cinnamon, turmeric, ginger or black pepper to any hot drink. It will give your skin a sudden glow and detoxifies at the same time. Turmeric also has anti-inflammatory properties which are useful when having a tendency towards acne or other skin irritations.

LEGS

Legs look better when they are moisturized every day, all year round, not only in summer. Use a special cream for your heel and feed. Also, the ritual of massaging cream on your legs can be like a lymphatic stimulation.

FEET

On a grey February day, it is a pleasure to see a well-groomed fodder. Avoid Shellac or any other artificial nail enhancers as they are not of advantage for the health of your nails. Instead use a special cuticle or nail oil on a daily basis that nourish you nails, just like your skin and hair. They will look more beautiful.

MOVE

If you don’t have time for fancy Pilates exercises. Sit on a gym ball and hold it for at least five minutes, twice a day. Exhale, inhale and think of straight legs and a tight stomach, voila.

WALK TO YOUR MEETINGS

The best skin care in February. A long walk in the cold. And when you arrive, bring that glow to the table.

COLOURED EYE SHADOW

This can be tricky if you are not familiar with Josef Albers’ colour theory in relation to your skin. Light is good, but less is more.
Experiment with a tiny area on your eye and see what happens, does the colour brightens the white in the eye, does it lift your eyes?
