Oils are the new nouveau rich in skin care

There are many kinds of oils you can use on your skin and more than enough variations on using them.
IRMA selected the finest ones and how to use them safely in your beauty routine.

ALL ABOUT OILS
Most skin care oils are based on a plant extract base like jojoba, olive and almond oil. What makes an oil special is the kind of essential oil that is added to create a special note to the oil.
Essential oils are highly concentrated, volatile plant extracts obtained through different extraction methods.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils are highly concentrated, volatile plant extracts obtained through different extraction methods.
A few popular elixirs include rose oil (which is derived from actual rose petals), lavender oil, and tea tree oil. They can be used for many different things like taking off your make up, nourish your skin and are even effective against pain and anxiety disorders.

But watch out phototoxic essential oils. They include bergamot (and citruses, like lime and lemon) and should not be used at more than 0.5 % on skin exposed to any amount of sunlight.

DID YOU KNOW?
Plant based oils can even cure skin scars, wrinkles and cellulite.

HOW TO STORE THEM?
Store them dry and in a moderate temperature place, with no direct sunlight, best to keep them in the boxes and if they get old once opened you can freshen them up with a few drops of essential oils.

WHAT CAN ESSENTIAL OILS DO?

For stress and anxiety:Lavender, cedarwood, lemon, bergamot, orange, and valerian.

For skin care: Lavender, carrot seed, rose, rosehip, frankincense, geranium, tea tree, ylang-ylang, and patchouli.

For cleaning: Cinnamon, pine, and lemon.

For a pick-me-up: Lemon and peppermint.

For immune-boosting: Lemon, lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus, oregano, thyme, orange, and cinnamon.

HOW TO RELAX WITH OILS
Take a bath and soak in your favourite oils by adding some milk or cream as an emulsifier. After the bath take the same oil and massage slightly into your skin. Your skin should be not completely dry but slightly moist so the oil can penetrate better into the skin.
