Once the residence of designer Charles Boccara, Jnane Rumi is now a discreet boutique hotel just outside Marrakesh. Its name combines “Jnane” (garden) and “Rumi” (a reference to the poet and to the owners’ European roots). Dutch art lawyer Gert-Jan van den Bergh and his wife Corinne transformed the house with the help of curator Samy Snoussi, who assembled a collection featuring only North African artists. The mix of architecture, art and landscaped gardens creates an atmosphere that makes you want to stay on the property all day.
