Sunday art walk, looking at Frank Bowling, Haus der Kunst

Sunday art walk, looking at Frank Bowling, Haus der Kunst
Artist Frank Bowling

Is there anything better to do on a rainy Sunday than wearing a comfortable, cosy coat and looking at art? I decided to visit the current exhibition of Guyana-born British artist Frank Bowling: Mappa Mundi.

Standing before the imposing presence of Bowling’s monumental, delicately worked, and tactile paintings, I am fascinated by the technique and colours of his paintings. References to the natural world evoke reflections on the vernacular and the post-industrial, the mythical and the classical, the literary and the spatial.
